STAFF

Coach Natalie
Owner. Coach. Biggest fan
Natalie is the owner and heart behind Appalachian Gymnastics Academy. Having grown up immersed in the world of gymnastics, she developed not only athletic skill but a deep appreciation for the life lessons the sport teaches—discipline, resilience, confidence, and perseverance. Those values continue to shape both her coaching and her approach to life.
Six years ago, Natalie made the move to Blue Ridge, drawn to the beauty of the mountains and the sense of community. As a mother of three active children involved in a variety of sports, she understands firsthand the importance of providing positive, enriching opportunities for kids to grow and thrive. In addition to running a business and supporting her children’s passions, Natalie also homeschools, bringing the same dedication and intentionality into her family life.
With a vision to give back to her community, Natalie founded Appalachian Gymnastics Academy to bring something truly special to the mountains—a place where children can build strength, confidence, and character in a supportive environment. For her, the gym is more than just a training space; it’s a place where young athletes can discover what they’re capable of, both on and off the mat.

Coach Chris
Chris began her gymnastics journey before Nadia Comăneci made history with the first perfect 10 in Olympic competition. She started in Atlanta, Georgia, and later owned and operated a gymnastics facility in Huntsville, Alabama, for 14 years. Over the course of her career, she has coached in Chattanooga, Destin, and Atlanta before ultimately returning to the mountains. With decades of experience, Coach Chris has trained athletes of every level, from energetic 2-year-old beginners to accomplished Elite gymnasts.

Coach Angie
Preschool Director
The Bear Cub Boss 🐻
Coach Angie brings energy, creativity, and a deep love for working with children to Appalachian Gymnastics Academy. With a background in early childhood education, she has a natural gift for connecting with young athletes and creating a fun, engaging environment where they can learn and grow with confidence.
As a mother of three, Angie understands the importance of nurturing each child’s unique personality and helping them feel supported both on and off the mat. Her experiences at home and in the classroom have shaped a patient, compassionate approach that allows her to connect with children of all abilities.
At the gym, Coach Angie is especially loved for her work with preschoolers, where her playful energy and encouraging nature make learning feel like an adventure. She creates a space where little ones feel safe, supported, and excited to try new things.
For Angie, gymnastics is about more than movement—it’s about building confidence, encouraging individuality, and making every child feel seen and valued.

Coach Hailey
Hailey has loved gymnastics since she was young! She grew up as a competitive gymnast, training at Gym Nest School of Gymnastics and eventually competing at AAU Nationals, where she placed 2nd on Vault and 4th All-Around! 🏅
Now a mom of three, Hailey is excited to be back in the gym and sharing her love of gymnastics with the next generation. She loves helping young athletes gain confidence, learn new skills, and most importantly, have fun while doing it!

Coach Jocelyn
Jocelyn is our Camp Coordinator & Party Director here at AGA! She loves planning fun activities, creating memorable experiences, and, of course, jumping right in and playing alongside the kids!
As a mom to one little guy of her own, Jocelyn has a natural way of making kids feel comfortable, included, and ready to have fun. Her creativity, energy, and love for working with children make her the perfect person to help bring our AGA camps and birthday parties to life!

Around here, we take gymnastics seriously… but not ourselves.
Coach Natalie and Coach Angie believe the best learning happens when kids are working hard, building confidence, and having FUN! You’ll usually find us coaching skills, cheering way too loudly, laughing with the kids, or occasionally demonstrating something our bodies may remind us later was a questionable decision.
We love this sport, we love teaching it, and we’re pretty lucky we get to have this much fun while doing it.
